Depending on the area of the country you're in, there are likely resources for you to learn more. In Northern California, for example, there is an incredible organization in the North Bay called the Women's Cancer Resource Center. And there's a great organization called Breast Cancer Action (founded by Eleanor Pred, who won Time Magazine's Person of the Year in like 1992 for founding the organization.) There's things like the Susan G Komen Foundation to donate funds to. All the $$ goes to breast cancer research. A wonderful book that might help you learn and understand more is Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book. - Zuzu

i would go with my friend to her chemo sessions. to keep her company. there is often a lot of waiting around, and having someone to talk to, to laugh with, or just to handhold seemed to make the time go more quickly for her.

Let me start off by saying how sorry I am. I hope more than anything she gets better. As far as ideas go, you could make her a scrap book! Start taking pictures of things that are beautiful and good in her life. Then if she gets sad, or overwhelmed, not only can she look at the pictures and see the good that is always in life no matter what, but know that you took the time to make it for her and feel very cared for. And bake her cookies. Everyone loves cookies. I hope you have a wonderful day and good luck! <3/ Dottie
